Inking Practice

Decided to do some inking practice.

These are small version (roughly 5x8) of Frank Quitely's pencils of pages 4 and 5 of New X-Men 138.

Now I have a hand cramp.

(Edit Edit:  Upon special request, the original pages.  They're pretty low resolution, which forces me to make more decisions on my own.  Hopefully the more I do these, the better I'll get at editing my own work down to what is necessary.)

Comicsexperience

Over the last two months, I've been taking one of Andy Schmidt's Comicexperience classes with Mr. Robert Atkins.

The great thing about this class was that the main focus was on storytelling. I learned a lot in that regard, and I have a long list of things to take away with me and apply to the future things I work on.

Another great thing was being able to talk your pages through with other people.  It really opens you to seeing the mistakes you've made (and your successes) through verbalizing whats going on.  You can almost instantaneously see what works and what doesn't.

Below are the results for the final assignment.  They aren't perfect, but they are definitely a step in the right direction!

Its been a long time since I last posted anything.

A LOT of false start and sputtering and frustration, but things are starting to get back on track.
